Rules

As of 2026-10-18

  • Stays charged on less than a monthly basis are hotel business under the Hotel Act and need a license or a small-accommodation acknowledgement.
  • Condo units can't be used for hotel operations (Condominium Act s.17/1 and the Land Department's 2023 position). Compliant condo strategies use monthly-plus stays.
  • Draft Accommodation Establishment Act (Sept 2026): not yet law.
